i love the get up kids. apparently, they're reuniting and i'll probably watch them, but i don't think this revisit to the past will eclipse the way i felt the first time i saw them play back in 1999. as hard as you try, you can't be 18 forever.Labels: Emo, Get Up Kids, Indie Rock, pop-punk, reunions

Dude, didn't you call this a couple years ago when both Ozma and the Rentals reunited? It was inevitable.
I'm just waiting for the Pitchfork headline that is like "Weezer ca. 1996 to reunite with the spiritual and aesthetic forces that made Pinkerton happen," and then the cycle will be complete.
Rivers is such a weird guy that I think the possibility of a circa 1996 Weezer reunion is fairly likely. As far as the Get Up Kids go, unlike Ozma or The Rentals, they have said in several interviews that they would never get back together. I guess mortgage payments suggest otherwise.
